The Irate Worker

Ridiculousity is a word

Such a slacker. Anyways, I have a few days worth of stuff….again.

A few days ago I was working in the morning, and I don’t do mornings. Especially at 9am. So anyway, I had this customer and she told me she had a water underneath (meaning a 24 pack that I won’t pick up). I forgot about it and realized it after she had cashed out. I told her I accidentally forgot to put in the water, and she goes “well I told you it was in there” and she walks out. Like what the fuck lady? I told Lisa to get her because she didn’t pay for the water. Lisa chases her out the door, and I find out later that she gave Lisa a hard time, and said “she will come into pay for the water after she puts her groceries in because they are already melting.” Like, if I or a customer forgets to tell me to ring something up, you just do it afterwards, what is the big fucking deal? You don’t walk out it’s called stealing; too bad security wasn’t on that morning. Apparently she also has a problem at our store “it’s always something”. I guess she stopped using the easy shoppers because she was always being audited. Well then, do you think that at this point the problem isn’t us it’s you? Like if you are always having an issue no matter when you come in or who you deal with, I think that you are the problem, just maybe?

Last night I had switched with Garrett so he could go to a party. I didn’t mind at first because my original schedule was at 7am, and I don’t do mornings. So we did each other a favor, or so I thought, until I was told around 10pm to do carriages. I went outside cursing that I had to do carriages. Had I known I had to do that I wouldn’t have switched. Within the first 5 minutes I was asked about 10 times when the store was closing. I sent carriages flying across the parking lot because I didn’t give two fucks. Sometimes I did two carriages at a time, other times I did about 5 or 6 carriages. I had some guys drive around staring at me driving around acting like fools. Then, when I had about 10 carriages left or so, my ankle started throbbing. I kept pushing it and eventually I was having trouble walking, so I finished what I could and went inside and sat down. My ankle was swollen. My mom eventually got Brownie’s and Tony’s attention to get ice. Apparently Tony had to report it as a work related injury and he asked if I needed the hospital. I didn’t break my foot, and even if I did, it’s useless to go to a hospital. They will make me wait until the swelling goes down to do xrays on my foot anyways. Tony never asked me to go home or do anything, so I helped bag when I could, but I basically sat around for about 2 hrs until my shift ended and iced my foot every so often. I guess he cared a lot? Whatever.

Today this lady comes in my line, and she gives me this pepper. It looked like a damn jalepeno to me, but she said it was something that started with a “s”.  Well I looked, and she was like the pepper was on the self scan, and I’m like that’s nice I don’t have the code anywhere. So I tried ringing it in as a mixed chili pepper, except it was so light, it didn’t weigh anything. It was so light, it weighed 0.01 lbs. or a tenth of an ounce. To mathematically  calculate that, it would come to about half a penny. Well, in America, we don’t have half a penny. I ended up putting it as a penny produce. She even told me it was too light for self scan. Well if it was too light for self scan, my scale is the same as the fucking self scans scale. Duh. And I can’t give her a free pepper. Like why don’t you buy two or three, and whatever you don’t use save it for later? Seriously. I literally did the impossible. Like why do you have to make things complicated, especially if you know better. She tried talking to me like she was my boss or something and made sure I knew what I was doing. Why don’t you learn how to shop, since apparently you know the register well enough to know that a tenth of an ounce of a pepper isn’t going to cut it?

The past few days has been full of ridiculousity.
