I think they do it on purpose

I swear customers love to irritate the fuck out of me. Seriously.

Yesterday one of my first customers was Hispanic, and they kept putting in the wrong pin number on their EBT card. Then after waiting several minutes they gave up and used their debit card, in which he also got the wrong pin number in there. I wanted to fucking kill them. The fact that neither of the customers left was shocking.

The customer behind them was like “I know the pin number to my card” and the other woman behind her said “I’m paying cash, which is so much easier” LOL

Then the stupid self scan was saying “Coupon box is full” because it was flipping out. I’m like fix the stupid thing before I break it. By the way, I was on register 14, which means I was directly next to self scan. Thanks.

I hate being on that register, because I will be in the middle of doing something and lines are out to the gazoo, and I have some idiot tapping me on the shoulder or saying “excuse me excuse me” and I try to ignore them as I can’t do two jobs at once, that’s why we have people in red shirts, unless someone is on break or whatever. Like if you want me to run self scan and do a register, Stop and Shop needs to pay me double an hour or more.

The other thing is I have to listen to people screw up. I know self scan so well I can tell someone is making a mistake or whatever just by the sound the machine makes. And then I get irritated because the person in charge isn’t paying attention and I already know what the customer needs before I even turn around.

I hate listening to it. “Please put item on the belt” (Customer doesn’t do it) *Ding* *Ding* *Ding* “If you wish to purchase this item, place it on the belt.” “Credit $1.25″ and then customer thinks they rang it up, and if they had just put it on the belt, it would go to the bagging area;  I wouldn’t have to run over there because they are stealing because they are so damn stupid for not listening to the damn machine.

Miss Haagen Daz hasn’t come back yet, and we put back her air conditioner last night. We’ll see what happens, as my mom and sis are working tonight.
